WHY DONATE?

You can make a difference in the lives of many adults living with a disability through your donations. Your support helps NIGEL respond to their critical needs and priorities. Giving helps:

  • Improve NIGEL's residences
  • Enhance staffing and equipment needs
  • Develop new programmes
  • Recruit and retain highly qualified caregivers
  • Provide enhanced services to residents
  • Enhance existing programmes and therapies

Your donation can also be specifically directed to any of these programs:

NIGEL Discretionary Programme

Enables NIGEL’s Board of Directors to direct money to NIGEL’s areas of greatest need.

NIGEL Medical Equipment Programme

Allows NIGEL to provide much needed specialized equipment to meet the changing needs of our residents.

Resident Health Programme

Provides medications and personnel enabling our residents to attain and retain a good quality of life.

Resident Therapy Programme

Provides a variety of therapies including horticulture, music and art to enhance resident's quality of life.

RECOGNITION PROGRAMMES

All supporters of NIGEL will be recognized by their membership in one of the following special recognition benefactor categories, unless the donor requests to be anonymous. Membership in each category is dependent on the value of the donation.

Benefits in each benefactor category are different, although all donors will receive: a letter of thanks, a charitable tax receipt, a free subscription to NIGEL's Newsletter and invitations to special events. Donors may also elect not to participate in the recognition programme. In such cases, their gift will be considered "anonymous" for public purposes. The donor (and/or designate) will receive a charitable tax receipt(s) and personal/updates on the impact of their gift, including statements of fund activity for endowed donations.
